Predicting the Keratoconus Disease Severity Based on Pachymetric Progression Indices Measured by Pentacam

Background Keratoconus (KCN) is a bilateral, progressive, and non-inflammatory disorder in the cornea, which results thinning protrusion of cornea. Objective This study aims to determine effectiveness using pachymetric progression indices (PPIs) grading severity KCN disease. Methods In this study, 76 patients with different stages were enrolled. The was graded according maximum keratometry, cornea thickness, spherical equivalent. PPIs measured by Pentacam demographic characteristics recorded their correlation assessed. Results terms severity, 18% at grade 1, 31% 2, 42% 3, 7% 4. power predicting 4, 3 2 based on area under curve ranged from 0.722 0.993. Conclusion (Minimum, Maximum, Average) can predict disease good sensitivity specificity.
